Validation workshop of the National Ecological Organic Strategy (NEOAS) held on 15th September 2023 at Morena Hotel in Dodoma City.

The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) together with the Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement (TOAM) organized a one-day stakeholder workshop on 15th September 2023 at Morena Hotel in Dodoma City. The objective of the workshop was to validate the draft National Ecological Organic Agriculture Strategy (NAEOAS). Mr. Obadiah M. Nyagiro, the Director of Policy and Planning at MoA officiated the Workshop on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, MoA.

The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) together with the Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement (TOAM) organized a one-day stakeholder workshop on 15th September 2023 at Morena Hotel in Dodoma City. The objective of the workshop was to validate the draft National Ecological Organic Agriculture Strategy (NAEOAS). Mr. Obadiah M. Nyagiro, the Director of Policy and Planning at MoA officiated the Workshop on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, MoA.  Participants in the workshop were drawn from both the public and private sectors.  Three members (Prof. Dismas Mwaseba, Dr. Suzana Nyanda and Dr. Devotha Mosha) of the secretariat of the Agroecology Hub in Tanzania (AEHT) project based at the Sokoine University of Agriculture participated in the workshop. The AEHT project, Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT), SWISSAID Tanzania, and Iles de Paix (IDP) were recognized for their contribution to the strategy formulation process. After a thorough discussion of the strategy, participants of the workshop recommended that the final draft be completed as soon as possible by incorporating the various inputs made during the workshop. This strategy is expected to be inaugurated at the coming National Ecological Organic Strategy Conference, which will be held from 8 - 9 November 2023, in Dodoma City, Tanzania.
