Sokoine University of Agriculture Community Health Scheme (SUA - CHS) is a community health Scheme established by the Sokoine University of Agriculture in 2007 as a financing mechanism towards better health care for the SUA Community and its neighborhood. Currently the fund operates as supplementary health scheme aimed at providing services over and above those offered by NHIF to its members.
    
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions under the Scheme. POSITION: SCHEME HEALTH SECRETARY II (1 POSITION)  

JOB SUMMARY:    
Scheme Health Secretary shall be responsible for day to day management of the SUA - CHS. He or She shall also be assisting Scheme Chairperson and Secretary in overall management of the Scheme on behalf of the members.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENC

  1. Bachelor Degree in Health Systems Management or Health Service Management or Hospital Administration
  2. Working knowledge of Ms. Office suite applications, including Excel and Word
  3. Strong verbal and written English
  4. Strong organizational, planning and management skills with ability to execute and oversee multiple tasks
  5. Experience in Health Funds/insurance or hospital administration position will be an added advantage

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Verification of various bills 
  2. Attending to members queries 
  3. Preparation of scheme long term and short term plans
  4. Preparation of various scheme reports
  5. Preparation of scheme meetings
  6. Following up of scheme debts
  7. Follow up of members contributions
  8. Verification of members 
  9. Supervise daily Administrative operations
  10. Interpret and monitor implementation of Health statistics
  11. Coordinate and implement referral protocols as per National Guidelines
  12. Attending other related duties as may be assigned by the Superior.

TERMS OF CONTRACT
Contract shall be of two (2) years (renewable depending on performance and funding) with probation of Six Months.

POSITION: SCHEME ACCOUNTS OFFICER II (1 POSITION)

​​​​JOB SUMMARY
Scheme Accounts Officer shall be responsible for all matters relating to SUA - CHS finances.  He or She will assist the Chairperson and Secretary of the Scheme in managing the finances as well as preparation of various financial reports.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields:  Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration or Commerce majoring in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent qualifications from recognized Institutions or Intermediate Certificate (Module D) offered by NBAA.
  2. Working knowledge of Ms. Office suite applications, including Excel and Word
  3. Strong verbal and written English
  4. Strong organizational, planning and management skills with ability to execute and oversee multiple tasks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Post and balance ledger accounts
  2. Maintain updated cheque register
  3. Issue invoices and make follow ups of payments of bills
  4. Maintaining full and accurate accounts records
  5. Checking claims, retirements and ensure that they are supported by appropriate documents
  6. Prepare various payments reports, schedules and list of various expenditures
  7. Maintain vote book and various registers
  8. Prepare monthly trial balances and bank reconciliation statement
  9. Prepare ledger accounts
  10. Reviewing measures for safeguarding assets and inventories
  11. Examine invoices any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
  12. Attending other related duties as may be assigned by the Superior.
